Frank R. Salvatore Jr. - Danbury City Council - 2019-2021

I was elected to the City Council on November 5, 2019 and served one-term through November 30, 2021.  I've served the City of Danbury as a Volunteer Firefighter at Water Witch Hose Co. #7 on Locust Avenue since 1984.  In 2019, I became an integral member of a four firehouse group that consolidated the volunteer firehouses into Danbury Volunteer Fire Battalion Thirty-One, Inc. to ensure they are able to continue their service to the city as a unified and stronger volunteer fire departments.  I'm a life-long parishioner at St. Gregory the Great Church here in Danbury and serve on the Parish Council and is Chair of the Finance Subcommittee.  I'm also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #29.

I am a Respiratory Therapist who graduated from the University of Hartford in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy with a minor in Biology.  I earned my Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Phoenix in 2009.  I've worked in health care since 1987 and am currently the System Director of Sleep Medicine and Wound Care/Hyperbaric Medicine at Nuvance Health.  I have oversight of thirteen (13) departments in seven hospitals.  The pinnacle of my career was to serve at the top of my profession as President of both my state affiliate the Connecticut Society for Respiratory Care (CTSRC) in 2000-2002 and the national organization the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) in 2015-2016.

When it comes to "Advocacy", I'm no stranger to it.  I led the government affairs committee of the AARC for over 20 years and was no stranger in  Washington, DC as I advocated for my patients and profession.  I've been very active with the state affiliate (CTSRC) and was part of a group that  advocated for increased access for patients to respiratory therapists in Hartford.   I hope to continue to serve as an advocate for issues regardless of the fact that I'm no longer a City Councilman.  I'm no stranger to city politics and will make sure the voice of Danbury residents are heard.

A Bit About Frank and His Family

I was born on July 24, 1966 to Frank and Carole Ann (Colla) Salvatore.  On my first birthday, my parents graced the family with a baby brother, Paul.  In 1971, we were blessed with a baby sister, Tina.  All three of us grew up in Danbury and attended the Danbury Public School system.  High school was a divergent point for the three Salvatore children.  I went onto graduate from Immaculate High School in 1984, Paul graduated from Henry Abbott Technical High School in 1985 and Tina graduated from Danbury High School in 1989.

While attending the University of Hartford I met the love of my life, Sheryl Silfen.  After graduating together in 1988, we were married on April 15, 1989 in Westbury, NY on Long Island where Sheryl grew up.  Sheryl is employed at Country Kids in Brookfield as a pre-school teacher.  In 1991, we were blessed with a son Matthew.  We raised Matthew here in Danbury where he went to the public school system and graduated from Danbury High School in 2009.  Matthew went onto college at Temple University in Philadelphia PA and graduated from there in 2013.  Matthew is married to his high school sweetheart Janine Hull and they're living in Monroe CT with their Snoodle Minnie and as of April 27, 2020 with Sophie Rose Salvatore our first grandchild.  Sheryl and I have been married for over 30 years and all of our married life has been here in Danbury.
